TIM Festival 2007 – Op Art

Challenge: In 2007, for Tim Festival’s 5th edition, Tátil had to recapture and present, in a clear and intriguing way, through the event’s graphic concepts, the emotional connections that exist between people and the experience of a huge music festival.

Solution: From intense research work, which included meetings with different groups, we plunged in search of these experiences and their meanings in people’s imagination. The result pointed out three latent structures – sex, circus and theme park – which, when mixed, inspired the graphic language for TIM Festival 2007. The circus was translated through colors, Op’s vibration, performances, the creation of a wayfaring atmosphere, tuned in with the idea of an event that comes to town and, for a few days, completely transforms the city.  The theme park is represented in the lighting, the playful character and the whole visual language. All this, with a certain neon, “red light district” touch, brought about through the third latent structure: sex.
